Options for non-invasive ICP monitoring in patients with fulminant hepatic failure

From our friends in Michigan comes this fantastic review of the options for non-invasive ICP monitoring in patients with fulminant hepatic failure. Despite some recent years with reports to the contrary, it seems as though ONSD is less accurate for the prediction of ICP in liver failure patients than we had all hoped.  Instead, the TCD-derived ICP (ICPtcd) comes out a winner— the formula looks intimidating but it’s not that hard to program into most modern US machines for automated calculations.  And TCD-PI falls out of the running for utility in ICP prediction.  This is important work and should upend some recently held beliefs in critical care ultrasound.
