There are nearly 800,000 strokes per year in the US and 87 percent are the result of acute ischemic stroke which is a leading cause of severe disability. The UC Stroke Team is a group of physicians based out of the University of Cincinnati Medical Center who specifically advise on acute ischemic stroke treatment for thrombolysis or endovascular therapy for eligible patients in the region. As stroke/vascular neurology-trained physicians, they specialize in providing excellent stroke and Neurology care at UC and in collaboration with community hospitals.

 Serving the Greater Cincinnati Tri-State area for over 25 years, the UC Stroke Team treats stroke patients arriving 24/7 at 33 acute hospitals in the area.

 Our team includes neurologists, neurointensivists, neurointerventionalists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and researchers, available to treat patients from symptom onset through stroke clinic follow-up.
